About the role:
The Sustaining Engineer, Internet Solutions applies advanced enterprise networking expertise to support, maintain, and improve SONIFI’s managed Wi‑Fi and networking platforms. This role independently diagnoses and resolves complex, non‑routine technical issues, leads advanced escalations, executes system upgrades, and determines corrective actions to ensure platform reliability, performance, and scalability. The Sustaining Engineer serves as a technical authority for issue resolution and service continuity.

Why the role matters:
This role plays a key part in maintaining service stability and accelerating incident resolution across SONIFI’s customer environments. As a senior escalation point and technical leader, the Sustaining Engineer helps reduce repeat issues, strengthen platform resilience, and ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as a subject matter expert on SONIFI networking solutions and support tools
• Independently diagnose and resolve complex enterprise networking issues with significant customer or service impact
• Lead advanced internal and external escalations in partnership with Engineering, Product, Field Support, OEMs, and partners
• Perform advanced diagnostics including log analysis and packet capture review across converged services such as Wi‑Fi, TV, Casting, and IoT
• Plan, execute, and validate system upgrades and maintenance activities, assessing risk and customer impact
• Provide on‑site technical leadership during critical incidents when required
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge‑sharing resources
• Partner cross‑functionally to align technical solutions with business objectives and customer requirements
• Maintain accurate technical documentation in Salesforce and other internal systems

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise networking environments, with a strong focus on wireless networks in hospitality or multi‑site enterprises
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including L2/L3 switching, WLAN architectures, wireless protocols, gateways, firewalls, TCP/IP, OSI, RADIUS, LDAP, and packet analysis
• System‑level experience with Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, scripting, and AWS preferred
• Proven experience serving as a technical escalation point and exercising independent technical judgment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and explain complex concepts
• Strong customer service skills and ability to remain composed under pressure
• High awareness of network security best practices
• Self‑starter, collaborative team player, and customer advocate

Preferred certifications:
• CCNA, CCNP, CWNP, CompTIA Network+ or Security+
• OEM certifications such as Ruckus, Aruba, Fortinet, or Nomadix
