Job Description
Position Summary:
The GIAS Project Manager will be responsible for the management of Operations, Product, and Engineering projects. These projects involve a significant amount of interdepartmental, customer, and vendor coordination. This position will manage these projects throughout the entire lifecycle and execution of the project. The management of the projects may include defining the scope, planning, construction of the project team, development of the budget and timeline, collection and management of requirements, functional project requirements and most importantly project execution.
The Project Manager will be a key contributor and lead for communication within the team and to the external customer. This position will ensure milestones are met and secure approval prior to significant project plan changes and will be responsible for managing the projects within scope, timeline and budget.
Essential Functions:
- Create and drive actionable, detailed, and effective project plans for SONIFI’s GIA team, built in collaboration with requestors and key stakeholders. Projects will center around continuous improvement within the organization but may include new technologies, new product line launches, and a variety of other customer-centric projects.
- Ensure deliverables are completed by their due dates and all communication required for the project’s success is aligned and shared on a regular cadence.
- Work in parallel with Product, Engineering and IT and other departments as needed to determine project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Develop a project plan to successfully launch products or implement projects while adhering to timelines and budgets, while mitigating risk.
- Ensure other departments understand GIA needs and risks.
- Determine work effort and project priorities based on business impact.
- Manage cross functional projects by assisting in defining requirements, identifying owners, tracking deliverables and milestones to the committed due dates.
- Lead or be a member of meetings to develop a project plan that includes deliverables, resource requirements and level of effort estimates.
- Ensure internal teams have everything they need to be successful, communicating gaps to Management.
- Act as a departmental resource and subject matter expert during launch activities.
- Monitor and control project efforts and resources during execution.
- Develop and manage working relationships with business partners, external/internal stakeholders, department managers, and other workgroups across SONIFI.
- Communicate project needs and timelines clearly to GIA management and other key stakeholders.
- Communicate Operations readiness on assigned projects.
- Communicate project status as often as necessary (both internally and externally).
- Maintain accurate records on all projects.
- Identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement throughout SONIFI.
- Continually look for ways to improve processes and procedures.
- Assist with defining and refining departmental processes.
- Assist with defining and refining task lists for project activities.
- Complete special projects as required.
Know-How:
- A four-year business, technical, or related degree with at least two years of experience in Project Management or equivalent field is required or the equivalent education and/or work experience.
- Ability to understand complex technical system interactions required.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Requires a general understanding of Wireless and IP systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills are required with the ability to give oral presentations and facilitate meetings.
- Strong initiative, organization, and work follow-up skills required.
- Desire to work with people and the ability to motivate and challenge individuals to meet development commitments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required along with organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project-scheduling applications (preferable MS Project) is strongly preferred along with experience in Salesforce or NetSuite.
