Product Owner

At SONIFI Health, Inc., we are seeking a Product Owner with a solid understanding of the software development process to act as the primary liaison between our Product Management team and our Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for translating high-level business goals and customer needs into actionable, technical requirements for our developers, and managing the product backlog.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background and a day-to-day focus on ensuring the development team has a clear, prioritized backlog and a strong understanding of product goals. This role is a critical partner to the Product Manager and is essential for turning our product strategy into a shippable product.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Translating product requirements into detailed, technical user stories for the engineering team.
• Managing and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure the most valuable features are developed first.
• Serving as the go-to resource for the development team for any questions or clarification.
• Working closely with the Engineering team to remove impediments and ensure a smooth development process.
• Collaborating with Product Managers and SVP of Product to understand the overall product strategy.
• Collaborating with Engineering to assess and prioritize technical debt alongside business priorities.

Requirements

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, marketing, or technical field and five or more years minimum relevant work experience in software applications product management, software development, or similar function is required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Technical Background: A strong grasp of core software development concepts.
• Software Development Process: Proven experience working on healthcare technology products within a formal software development lifecycle, preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• API & Integrations: Experience working with APIs and understanding third-party integrations.
• Platform Experience: Experience with cloud-hosted solutions (SaaS) or B2B software in the cloud.
• Tools: Proficient in using Atlassian products, specifically Jira, for managing and tracking development work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in the healthcare industry on digital health and clinical workflow products strongly preferred. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record integrations strongly preferred.
• Seniority: We are looking for someone who can work with autonomy and ownership over their work.

Key Distinction between Product Owner vs. Product Manager: Product Owners focus on technical strategy and execution, while Product Managers focus on customer value and product vision. Product Owners are the go-to for technical details, whereas Product Managers steer the overall strategy and market alignment. SONIFI is seeking a Product Owner.

Together, we can build your future! SONIFI pays a competitive salary for this role based on a variety of factors including location, experience, education, specialty, and training. This position is also eligible for PTO, holidays, health, dental, vision, retirement plan, pet insurance, on-demand pay, and a variety of other benefits. 

Generally starting between $90,000 - $120,000 annually; the salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, experience, education, specialty, and training. This pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
